Want to learn to play the electric guitar? There are no pre-requisites to follow this course, you can just purchase a cheap electric guitar and amp to get started. This course will guide you starting from the very basics such as tuning your guitar and reading guitar tabs, chords and chord progressions up to learning how to improvise using guitar lead techniques.
By the end of the course you will be able to learn your favourite songs and write your own. I have written 68 exercises for this course, you'll be able to practice them with tabs on screen or by playing them with either the Guitar Pro or Tux Guitar software.
I have been studying music and playing guitar for more than fifteen years, I have personally taught dozens of students in real life, I have more than three thousand subscribers on my YouTube channel "theAbstractFlower (tabs)", I have played in metal bands, alternative rock bands, tribute bands (Slipknot, Joy Division, Porcupine Tree). The exercises of this course are influenced by alternative rock, grunge, brit-pop, stoner, metal music and partly by the personal style of playing I have developed through the years.
You'll find the Guitar Pro/Tux guitar tabs of the exercises attached to the first lecture of section four.
