This course delves into the details of docker components and characteristics like
1. Docker Daemon and its workings
2. ContainerD and its workings
3. Namespaces and Control Groups
4. Overlay File System
5. Shim and Runc
There are some practical implementations in C. However, this is not a full fledged container implementation. The aim of the course is to bring the readers to a point where they can appreciate the beauty of Docker and the thought process of its creators. This is also not an exact representation of working of Docker.
This tutorial does not discuss about docker commands in general. There are plenty of tutorials on the internet on Docker commands. Please refer to those to get an insight on Docker.
This tutorial also expects that the users are conversant with basics of
1. UNIX and UNIX shell
2. familiarity with fork and exec
3. mount command
4. Basic idea of UNIX network interfaces like eth0, lo and
5. UNIX terminals
